Per Lumen is the first work in the Equus Refractus series.
In this piece, I wanted to reveal not only the physical quality of light — how it refracts, like inside a crystal — but also its essence: the way light interacts with form and transforms as it passes through it.
The main inspiration came from observing how light filters through a crystal, splitting and shimmering, and from the inner radiance I sense in the horse — a being of extraordinary brightness that brings only positive emotions.
Using a dialogue between Cubism and Rayism, while preserving the recognizable anatomy of the horse, I sought to depict light flowing through the figure, refracting and reshaping it from within. The work becomes a metaphor for striving toward beauty, for the luminous aspect of freedom.
