Moments of Eternity
Triptych, 2026
Colored pencil on paper
3 works, each 50 × 70 cm
Moments of Eternity is a triptych created especially for Bron van Inspiratie, a collaborative project by the artists of Paard Verzameld at De Paardenkamp, Soest.
The triptych explores fleeting perception and the way brief moments are transformed into memory.
In each of the three works, a realistic depiction of a horse interacts with fragmented, crystallizing spatial structures. This space is not merely a background; it becomes a metaphor for memory — shifting, incomplete, unstable, yet capable of holding a trace of presence.
Within this fractured environment, the horse becomes more than a depicted subject. It acts as a carrier of a living moment: appearing within a structure that both gathers and dissolves form, turning movement, a glance, or a touch into an image that remains after the event itself has passed.
The three panels — Fleeting Touch, Fleeting Glance, and Fleeting Moment — each reflect a different form of brief encounter: a touch, a glance, and a moment. Together, they form a meditation on how the ephemeral can become a lasting image in memory.
