Fleeting Glance is the central panel of the triptych Moments of Eternity, created for the exhibition Bron van Inspiratie at De Paardenkamp in Soest.

Two real ponies from De Paardenkamp appear on opposite sides of the composition. Their faces, one light and one brown, hold the foreground with a calm and silent presence. Between them, the space opens into a luminous passage, where distant human figures seem to walk away into light.

The work reflects on the transience of experience — on the way a moment appears, changes and disappears before we can fully hold it. The fragmented, almost cubist space creates a tunnel-like effect, suggesting not a literal landscape, but the inner architecture of memory.

Here, memory is both fragile and dense. A moment may be fleeting, almost illusory, yet it can leave a strong emotional trace. No moment is exactly equal to another; each carries its own rhythm, atmosphere and weight.

In Fleeting Glance, the two ponies become witnesses to this passing instant. Their presence anchors the composition, while the centre dissolves into distance, light and recollection. The work invites the viewer into a quiet, meditative space where what is disappearing is also being preserved.
