Dreamcatcher is a visual exploration of the structure of consciousness, its boundaries, and the connection between the material, the conscious, and the unconscious. The work reflects the complex, multilayered nature of perception, where the personal and the collective, the logical and the intuitive, the real and the imagined intertwine into a single whole.
At the center of the composition are three faces emerging from one another, each symbolizing a different level of perception:
• The lower head with horns represents the material and instinctual aspect — the realm of sensations, bodily impulses, and primal reactions.
• The central face embodies the conscious mind, a point of balance between bodily experience and deeper unconscious processes.
• The upper face, looking upward, represents the subconscious, intuitive perception. Stars are reflected in its eyes, symbolizing the yearning to understand the inaccessible, to grasp what lies beyond the rational.
From the upper head emerges a complex network in which eight faces with different emotions are arranged. This structure symbolizes the multiplicity of human experience, its variability, and the ability of consciousness to shape individual reality through perception.
From the lower head, bees fly out, symbolizing the collective unconscious — a layer of perception that does not belong to the individual but influences them through cultural codes, archetypes, and intuitive knowledge passed through generations.
From the same head, ivy grows, its vines connecting with the network emerging from the upper head. This element symbolizes the connection between the material and the subconscious, reminding us that intuition and the deeper processes of the mind are not separate from bodily experience but intertwine with it, forming a holistic perception of reality.
Dreamcatcher is a reflection on the nature of consciousness, the mechanisms of filtering experience and perception, and how the personal and the collective intertwine into a unified fabric of the inner world. The work invites the viewer to reflect on where the boundaries between the conscious and the unconscious lie; what shapes our perception of reality — logic or intuition; how the external becomes internal, and the internal becomes external.
